If you have a access to a quite spot outdoors where you can relax, then I urge you to take some time, sit there and do nothing! That’s my plan for a special 30mins tonight. The weather is super (as it was last night). The birds are singing, the bees are buzzing and all seems right with the world. I’m reminded of Baloo singing in Disney’s version of The Jungle Book, “The bees are buzzin’ in the tree / To make some honey just for me”!
There’s nothing like a bit of good weather to bring a feeling of good cheer. We may not get the sun as often as we like, but while we have it, we should enjoy it if we can. It’s easy to take common things for granted, but they can bring wonder and joy if our mood allows.
Last night I tried to capture some of the images from my garden that I found wonderful. The photographs I took can be seen above. I wish I could have captured the birdsong (time to learn about audio blogs I guess) but take my word for it that the sounds of robins, finches, blue-tits, and even the crows and magpies, were fantastic. This, in a small city garden, mostly paved, with a few pots in which we try to grow tomatoes, blueberries and strawberries! I just love summer.
Tonight I intend making the most of the good weather again. I hope you have the opportunity to do the same. If you can take a moment, stop and smell the roses.
